Hi to all,
It is time for an Allen update. It has been awhile. Im promising my mother photos very soon.
Praise I saw the endocrinologist on Monday and my pituitary adenoma has SHRUNK! It is still there, but hardly visible. This means I can continue to nurse Joel and not have to go back on the medication. I am thankful I persisted with doctors as my primary care wanted me back on medication without doing the bloodwork and MRI first. From now on theyll just watch it and unless it grows, I will not need to take medication. These completely disappear at menopause, so well have to watch it until then.
Life has been crazy busy and fun. Here are a few of the highlights:
- AWANA Grand Prix (pine wood racers) Hannah takes first in design and speed for the Cubbies division. Elizabeth takes first in speed for Sparks division. David has a lesson in being a graceful non-winner.
- 2005-06 school year ends today. No one is happier than MOM/teacher.
- Hannah sports a new hair cut. Very cute shoulder length which fixes her self-cut of a few months ago and makes combing it immensely easier.
- Elizabeth graduates from Kindergarten in a very cute ceremony with the rest of her KinderCrew at the learning center. 14 in all, they have become great friends this year.
- David celebrates his 8th birthday with a party here at the house. We had a submarine theme with a treasure hunt. Mom had to get really creative with the cake and games, but found a great submarine experiment on-line. Way too hot weather and power outage made this a memorable day.
- Memorial Day Weekend campout in some friends back yard with 5 other families. Kids loved the campfire, smores and tents the best. We awoke on Davids birthday, so had our traditional Chocolate Chip Pancakes to share with the campers.
- Joel turned 4 months old today. He is teething and drooling everywhere. Loves to talk and babbles most when Im talking on the phone. Continues to enjoy being in the middle of the action and social situations. Sleeping about 12 hours at night!!!
- Little League Farm Giants has been Davids activity since April. He has his last game on Saturday with closing ceremonies the following week. He has become a good outfielder and learned a lot about perseverance and hard work. We also learned he needed glasses through this escapade.
- 657 Mainstreet (our Wednesday night program at church) ends for the summer with a fun Block Party complete with barbeque, a 25 foot slide, and lots of fun games. Our vans were used for the van stuffing contest. Did you know 25 people will fit in a mini van?
- Saras term as MOMS Club president is winding down. Had a Mothers Day event in May and end of year banquet Sunday. Now to just get those pesky end of year reports done and all my duties pass on to the next president July 1st.
- Found one of the best backyard train layouts right here in Riverside. They also have another awesome display in a designated train room. Enjoyed a fascinating field trip there with MOMS Club and have David already planning when we will return. Trains continue to enthrall him.
- Elizabeth shows fashion designer tendencies and keeps Mom and Dad in prayer for wisdom. They never thought theyd be dealing with these issues with a 5 year old!
- Hannah begins reading and continues her love of language. She still has over a year before she officially starts school, but she begs to read so we couldnt hold her back.
Anyway, that is our life in a snapshot. Our love to all, Sara
