Saturday, we began Christmas Shopping officially. Stefanie and Mamu watched the kids while Stacy and I successfully completed about 95 percent of our shopping in about 5 hours. This is quite an accomplishment for us as we have been frequently spotted late Christmas Eve at the mall desperately searching for something, anything to complete our miserable shopping experience. This year we started out with a new resolution. Shopping will be complete well in advance of the big shopping rush the last week before C day. We want to be the people who sit back relaxed and laugh at all the late desperate shoppers for a change.
Of course there will be some last minute items purchased, but those will be without the previous years stresses and a more joyful spirit will be experienced by us, with the knowledge that these gifts are icing on the cake.
We will have 2 Christmas celebrations this year as Kevin’s Klan will be travelling this year visiting relatives. I’m sure we’ll have updates on thier travelling adventures again as Sara is quite the story teller.
Sunday, we woke up to the sound of thunder exploding in air and shaking the house. From the sound, the lightning was right overhead. The blasts were so forceful that the house shook and car alarms sounded on each blast. Branden woke up about 45 minutes into this display of natures force and climbed into bed with us. Bailey didn’t hear any of it.
We all woke up later on to the sight of Snow on the hills behind our house. See pictures in the photo album. It wound up raining all day so instead of mowing the lawn and taking the car in for new tires, we stayed home and watched football and lit a fire in the fireplace. Stacy is making Chocolate Chip Cookies some with walnuts, yum!
The Broncos Won! Soundly beating the New Orleans Saints and achieving a record of 7 and 3 for the season. Next week the Broncos host the Oakland Raiders and then travel to San Diego to play the Chargers. Go Broncos!!!
