alleymon 3rd Grade and Branden’s 9th Birthday soon. Branden is turning into a little man now, he has grown taller and thinner. His little boy face is changing into a big boy face and will shortly become a teenager face. It really won’t be long. I can’t wait for the time when I can actually start relating to his feelings with the understanding of one who has had the same feelings. He is starting to enter an age where I remember being, so the uncontrollable emotions he feels are the ones I REMEMBER feeling too. And with that change I can feel empathy toward his situation.
It is sad that it will be many, many years before he will experience enough to be able to empathize with me… As I am now able to empathize with my father’s feelings now that he is gone.
Why are mom’s more able to relate to the young children? Perhaps they don’t grow as far away from childhood emotions as men.
