Pets don’t have a clue about the strange events that happen every October 31st. Chinook could smell strange people coming to the house and knocking on the doors. She could hear them exclaim “Trick or Treat” but, of course, her doggie mind could not understand. She faithfully barked at each passing noise, knock and doorbell ring. We sequestered her in the garage with food and water and a warm rug to lay on. It was better she didn’t see the monsters coming to the door. Imagine her confusion seeing her humans giving offerings to these demons who invade her space.
But now Halloween is over for another year, and Chinook’s relative peace has returned. Now she can growl and bark at real threats to her domain. Door to door solicitors!
Good Girl Chinook, Good Girl.
