alleymon I am thankful for all the things in my life that give my family contentment. I am thankful for all the things in my life that teach me something that makes me a better person. I might not like some of those things as they happen, but I am thankful for them.
Thanksgiving at the Allen’s (Lake Elsinore Edition) was an event full of contentment.
Stacy was up early wrestling with the bird and did most of the heavy cooking. The kids kept out of the way and played nice for the most part. I helped clean while the smells of cooking enveloped the house. I even pitched in with making the gravy and carving the turkey and washing dishes.
Food and family is reason for thanks. My Mom and Stacy’s Mom along with our Niece were able to join us for the thanksgiving meal of turkey and fixin’s. There was more than enough food to go around and plenty of football to watch 😉 to keep me out of trouble.
Most of our Christmas Shopping was done before Thanksgiving, with only a few items yet left to purchase. This is always such a relief that it makes the rest of the holiday season really quite nice. We missed “Black Friday” altogether and only watched the MAD crowds on the News.
On to Christmas!
